Final Updates to CMMC and the Need to Protect and Control CUI

Air Date: Tuesday, November 19, 2024

The Department of Defense (DoD) published the final rule for CMMC 2.0, with Title 32 Part 170 set to take effect on December 16 2024. Starting mid-December, businesses will begin conducting official assessments with C3PAOs. Title 48 Part 204, expected to be published later this year, will further detail the purchasing authority to incorporate CMMC into DoD contracts.

The new ruling simplifies compliance for small and medium-sized businesses by reducing the assessment levels from five to three and aligning more closely with NIST standards. It introduces greater flexibility, including self-assessments at  Level 1, limited self-assessments for Level 2, and clearer, more manageable requirements for Level 3 certification.

This webinar will provide critical insights for organizations within the Defense Industrial Base (DIB) on these significant updates, including what to anticipate and how to prepare.

CMMC consultant Joe Devine, President, Axiotrop and Andrew Lynch, Vice President of Sales, Virtru discuss the following:

  • Key updates to the recently published CMMC rule, including timelines
  • What these changes mean for organizations in the DIB
  • The importance of protecting CUI and maintaining compliance with CMMC 2.0
  • Effective strategies for managing audit trails without disrupting workflow
  • How to balance security with usability for seamless collaboration

This session will help you plan for these CMMC updates and show options on how to transform compliance from a regulatory burden into a strategic advantage. Learn how to equip your teams with the right tools and processes that not only meet compliance standards but also drive innovation and growth within your organization.
